DRUG DISPOSAL DAY RESULTS

On Saturday April 27th, 2013 Local Law Enforcement agencies from the surrounding counties, and the METRICH Drug Task Force participated in another Prescription Drug Take Back Event. In total the counties received, 1,828.6 pounds of medication. Lt. Ken Coontz stated this was the highest amount of medication taken in during the last three years. He commented that community participation and commitment by surrounding Chiefs and Sheriffs was the key to this year’s success. Below is a breakdown on the locations that participated in the take back event. The next take back event will be held in September.

 

Ashland Co. Sheriff      180.20 lbs.

Bellevue PD                          73 lbs.

Bellville PD                        44.4 lbs.

Carey PD                                 8 lbs.

Crawford Co. Sheriff         118 lbs.

Clyde PD                              55 lbs.

Galion PD                       110.2 lbs.

Lexington PD                   51.4 lbs.

Mansfield PD                208.8 lbs.

Shelby PD                         37.4 lbs.

Freemont PD                    203 lbs.

Morrow Co. Sheriff          56.2 lbs.

Marion Co. Sheriff / MPD       399 lbs.

Seneca Co. Sheriff            97 lbs.

Sycamore PD                        8 lbs.

Upper Sandusky PD           5 lbs.

Wyandot Co. Sheriff          87 lbs.

Willard PD                          87 lbs.

LEVEL 1 SNOW ADVISORY CANCELED

At 10:45am this morning Marion County Sheriff Tim Bailey canceled the LEVEL 1 snow advisory that was put into effect early this morning. Sheriff Bailey stated main roads and highways are mostly clear but that some secondary roadways are still snow covered in places so caution should still be used when driving. Crews with the Ohio Department of Transportation, the Marion County Garage and the Marion City Garage are continuing to treat and clear roadways.
