Written by Major Jeff Cline
Thursday, 31 October 2013

This is an update in the investigation of the shooting incident that occurred on 10/28/2013 in the 500 block of Euclid Avenue in Marion. Suspect Joshua A. Bright (AKA: Bill Champ) was arrested a short time ago in Tallahassee, Florida for his involvement in this incident. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office received numerous tips and information concerning this investigation. This information led investigators that Bright had fled Marion and was en route to Florida by bus. Once the correct route was learned the Tallahassee Police Department was informed of this case. Tallahassee officers located Bright at the bus station, where he was taken into custody without incident. Bright was arrested on a nationwide warrant for attempted murder, two counts of felonious assault and two counts of aggravated robbery. Arrangements will be made to extradite Bright back to Marion.

Additional suspects Danny E. Logan II and Tim C. Persinger were located earlier as a result of this investigation. Marion County Sheriff’s Office Detectives continue to investigate this incident and once completed will be forwarded to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to call the Marion County Sheriff’s Office at 740-382-8244 ext. 0 or the TIPS line at 740-375-TIPS (8477).
