Thursday, 08 May 2014

On 05/07/2014 at approximately 12:45am, a road patrol deputy discovered that several trees had been cut down on the River Valley High School campus at 4280 State Route 95 East.  It was learned that 23 trees on the school campus had been cut down with chainsaws. The trees were aged anywhere from one year to over 10 years old.

In the course of the investigation five River Valley seniors were interviewed about their involvement in this incident.  All five are current River Valley students and attend either River Valley High School or Tri-Rivers (as a River Valley student). Some of the suspects are 18 years old but at least one of them is 17 years old.

This case will be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for review of possible charges against all five of the students.  There is no further information concerning this investigation available at this time.
