Marion County Sheriff Tim Bailey announced his office will be participating in a countywide traffic detail targeting speed and alcohol related violations for the upcoming holidays. Deputies will be conducting extra traffic enforcement and patrol now through New Years day. Sheriff Tim Bailey’s office has received a grant from the Ohio Department of Public Safety and the Governor's Highway Safety Office for overtime traffic enforcement. These monies enable officers to work extra overtime hours during various dates throughout the year to curb impaired driving, speed, and seatbelt violations. Deputies will be patrolling all local state routes, county and township roads, and village streets for these violations and will have a zero tolerance during the Christmas and New Year’s holiday, and other high traffic holidays throughout the year. Sheriff Tim Bailey and his deputies are committed to keep Marion County roadways safe for all residents and visitors. |

Sheriff Tim Bailey announced today a change in the location and hours of operation for Webcheck background checks and for processing Ohio Conceal Carry License applications.
Starting on December 19th, 2011 Webchecks and CCL applications will be conducted at the sheriff’s office on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Currently, both are offered Monday through Friday at the Marion County Building. However, due to recent budget cuts and the upcoming lay-offs of deputies, these services will still be offered to the public but at the sheriff’s office on restricted days and hours.
