Operation "Feel the Heat" Nets Arrests and Drugs PDF Print E-mail

On July 21, 2011 the MARMET Drug Task Force, Marion County Sheriff’s Office and Marion Police Department kicked off the “Feel the Heat Drug Sweep”. This operation concluded a several month drug investigation involving several area drug dealers. This investigation was spearheaded by the MARMET/METRICH Drug Task Force and the Marion County Prosecuting Attorney Brent Yagers’ Office.

At approximately 11:00 am law enforcement began serving arrest warrants on over 20 persons charged with trafficking in illegal drugs. As of 5:00 pm approximately half of the 20 had been located and arrested.

During these arrests large amounts of Cocaine, Crack Cocaine, Marijuana and Prescription Pills were seized. Also seized was a substantial amount of U.S. currency and several vehicles. Charges on these suspects range from felonies of the 1st degree to felonies of the 5th degree.

The following subjects were arrested as a result of this operation:

Ricco McGhee for 2 cts. of trafficking in cocaine (34YOA of 134 S. Seffner Street)

Curtis W. Paymon for 2 cts. of trafficking in cocaine (30 YOA of 132 E. George Street)

Rebekka J. Reed for 1 ct. of trafficking in cocaine (25 YOA of 132 E. George Street)

Ricky J. Kensler for 2 cts of trafficking in cocaine (36 YOA of 288 E. Center 1W)

Robert Peters for 2 cts. of trafficking in cocaine (42 YOA of 269 Windsor Street)

Tasha L. Belt for 2 cts. of trafficking in cocaine (29 YOA of 269 Windsor Street)

Tara D. Jacobs for 1 ct. of trafficking in cocaine (24 YOA of 399 Windsor Street)

Cody Bosh for 1 ct. of trafficking in Heroin (31 YOA of 315 S. High Street)

Gregory A. Tanner for 3 cts of trafficking in cocaine (20 YOA of 506 Bimini Drive)

Mathew P. Hutchinson for 1 ct. of theft (28 YOA of 298 Leader Street)

Listed is a summary of the types and amount of drugs seized thus far:

50.3 grams Crack Cocaine

15.3 grams Powder Cocaine

87.1 grams Marijuana

27 pills Prescription Drugs

$1808.42 U.S. Currency

3 Arrested and Stolen Property Recovered PDF Print E-mail

On 07.15.2011 at 3:27pm The Marion County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at 470 Oak Street Marion, Ohio in relation to a theft investigation stemming from several thefts from vehicles in Marion County over the past three months.

Deputies and Detectives recovered a large amount of stolen property from this location as a result of the thefts. Arrested at this location were Josh K. Criswell 28 years of age of this address on a warrant for failure to appear and also charges of receiving stolen property, forgery, and theft. Cindy R. Patterson 22 years of age of 465 Mound Street was arrested for a probation violation. Detectives then located James M. Large (AKA: Bobby Sloan) 24 years of age of 465 St. Gallen Street who was arrested for a probation violation. Additional charges will be submitted on Large and Patterson upon the completion of further investigation related to the thefts.

Breaking & Entering Arrests Nets Stolen Property PDF Print E-mail

On 07.14.2011 at 2:27am The Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 6400 Block of Smeltzer Rd for a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the roadway. Upon arrival deputies located three subjects coming out of the corn field. It was determined through further investigation they had committed a breaking and entering to a barn in the area.

The three subjects were arrested and transported to the sheriff’s office where further investigation was conducted. It was discovered that these subjects had participated in several thefts from buildings and barns in the Marion County area over the course of several months. It is estimated they had committed over sixty thefts in Marion County in over eighty visits. Sheriff’s Office detectives then traveled to Columbus, Ohio and were assisted by the Columbus Police Department and served a search warrant at the home of the three subjects located at 781 Miller Avenue Columbus, Ohio. At this location detectives recovered a large amount of stolen property.

Arrested were Joseph O. Luna 21 years of age, Jennifer Packer 30 years of age, and Ronald R. Packer II 33 years of age. All three subjects are being held at the Multi County Correctional Center on charges of breaking and entering and receiving stolen property. Additional charges will be submitted pending further investigation. Ronald R. Packer II also had a warrant for his arrest from West Virginia for a Failure to Appear on a Weapons Offense. All three subjects are suspected in committing thefts from buildings and barns in Delaware, Richland, and Morrow Counties.
