Sheriff Tim Bailey announced the 2008 Deputy and Civilian of the Year. Nate Hildreth has been selected as the Deputy of the Year and Karla Gregory has been named the Civilian of the Year.

Nate Hildreth has been with the Sheriff’s Office for almost 14 years. He joined the Sheriff’s Office in June of 1995 as a Deputy Jailer. In May of 1996 he was promoted to Corrections Officer II. When the jail closed at the Sheriff’s Office in 1999, Nate was promoted to a Sheriff Deputy Road Patrol. He also served at the Court House as security before becoming a Detective in July of 2006. Nate is a very hardworking employee that is always willing to help wherever it is needed. He works long and odd hours on cases, often solving them in a very quick and timely matter. Nate is also always willing to help others with whatever they need. He resides in Marion County with his wife and daughter.

Karla Gregory joined the Sheriff’s Office in June of 2004 as a civil process clerk. In January of 2008 she was promoted to Budget Director and has worked very hard and diligently this past year to maintain the budget. She is a hard worker and often takes on extra tasks to help others. She always has a positive attitude and works well with everyone. Karla resides in Marion with her husband. They have two grown children in college.

American Legion Post 605 Donates to K-9 Fund PDF Print E-mail

On March 16th, 2009 members of the American Legion Waldo Post 605 donated $1000.00 to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit. Deputy D.J. Barron was present to accept the generous donation to successfully continue the program. Also present from Post 605 to donate the contribution was Ed Paulus, Delly Klingle, Dane Rengert, Jim Bishop and Dave Lehner. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank all the members of Post 605 for their support.
