On 03.09.2010 at 12:46pm a deputy of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to investigate a theft complaint in the 1500 block of Marion Mt. Gilead Rd. While investigating the complaint the deputy recovered heroin and drug paraphernalia. The suspect, 19 year old Elizabeth Gaither of 580 David Street Marion, Ohio was arrested for possession of heroin a second degree felony, trafficking heroin a second degree felony, theft a first degree misdemeanor, child endangerment a first degree misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia a fourth degree misdemeanor. Gaither had a one year old child in her custody that she was babysitting at the time of the theft offense and trafficking offense. Gaither was transported to the Multi County Correctional Center and the child was released to her mother who responded once notified by the sheriff’s office. The 6.5 grams of heroin has a street value of $1300.00. Gaither also had in her possession $1076.40 of suspected drug money which was seized. Detectives of the MARMET-METRICH drug task force responded and assisted and Children Services was also contacted and advised of the incident.
